Regional Section Purpose

The purpose of RAPS is to foster and promote in Asia-Pacific countries:

  • Education and research in Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) and Clinical Toxicology (CT)
  • Improving the standards of practice and clinical interpretation of pharmacological/toxicological analyses, and to facilitate the delivery of clinical pharmacokinetics for enhanced patient care
  • Encouraging cooperation with and between members of all professions concerned with TDM and CT, including but not limited to education, routine practice and research
  • Organizing and conducting a regional meeting at least biannually
  • Identifying centres of excellence in the region, to facilitate training and establishment of observerships in the field of TDM and CT
  • Promote local academic-industrial partnership for translation of technologies and increasing reach of TDM and CT in underserved communities
  • Facilitate regional collaboration with Scientific Committees, with a focus on young scientists
  • TDM Education India webinar series
  • RAPS webinar series
  • TDM observership programmes in China and Singapore
  • Collaborative work with other societies in the Asia Pacific region, including ADVANCE-ID, Asia Fungal Working Group, Asia Pacific Intensive Care Symposium
  • Inaugural RAPTDM 2025 Conference: Penang Malaysia: Attended by 240 participants, 32 speakers with participation from the Malaysian Ministry of Health
  • RAPTDM 2027 Conference, Apr 23-25, 2027 at Putrajaya, Malaysia
