16th IATDMCT Congress: Top Science Down Under

What does it mean to the Local Organising Committee, personally and professionally, to host the congress?

It is a real privilege to host the 2018 IATDMCT congress and welcome friends and colleagues to the South Hemisphere. Our congress program will focus on strong science, opportunities for active engagement, a platform to highlight innovations and inspiration to change practice. We hope to make the 2018 meeting a congress of ideas.

We are looking forward to welcoming you with a warm “G’day” when you head to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in September 2018. Australia is not just a place of friendly people, great beaches and landscapes (such as the Great Barrier Reef), amazing flora and fauna, but it is also an international powerhouse of world-class research.

Looking back at a 20 years history of TDM and CT in Australia, what are the 3 most important developments in the field that have been achieved?

• Major advances in the science of measurement and analysis to guide evidence-based TDM;
• A greater focus on translational research integrating science into the clinic to make a difference for patients; and
• Major Australia leadership in the area of transplantation medicine, antimicrobial therapeutics and clinical oncology.

2018 Congress Highlights

The theme for IATDMCT 2018 is “Top science down under” and will embrace many of the uniquely Australian areas of TDM and clinical toxicology including translational clinical pharmacology, pharmacogenomics, anti-doping, clinical toxicology of overdose and toxicology of venoms (snakes and spiders). The congress organising committee has a strong commitment to meet the needs of IATDMCT members, especially across the Scientific Committees.

We are currently calling for symposia proposals (Symposium application) and are keen to include your expertise and innovative ideas.
