Committee Purpose

  • Provide support, guidance, and education for scientists, clinicians, laboratory HPLC/LC-MS/MS/other assays for TDM purposes
  • Focus on early career, new lab setup and those who want to expand beyond immunoassays
  • Development of practical guidance documents (not replacing ICH/FDA/EMA documents)
  • The committee will organise regular educational events (online)
  • The committee is cross-sectional and can support other committees when they receive questions regarding assay development/validation
  • Work closely with sections, such as regional activities, focused on setting up/developing lab activities (e.g., the RAPS-Indonesia initiative)
  • Translate existing guidelines into practice documents to assist with the technical aspects of assay development and validation, encompassing traditional and alternative sampling methods. These documents will complement existing guidelines from regulatory bodies such as ICH/FDA/EMA/ISO15189 and other organisations like Joint Committee for Traceability in Laboratory Medicine (JCTLM), aiming to provide practical insights and best practices for TDM analytical procedures.
  • Organize regular educational events with a focus on online delivery to reach a global audience, covering topics related to traditional and alternative sampling methods, assay development, validation, and emerging technologies in the field of TDM analytical techniques. Work closely with regional activities focused on setting up and developing laboratory activities, such as the RAPS-Indonesia initiative, to provide targeted support and resources related to traditional and alternative sampling methods for TDM.
  • Act as a cross-sectional committee to support other committees within IATDMCT when they receive inquiries or require assistance related to traditional and alternative sampling methods, assay development, and validation. This collaborative approach will ensure that the analytical expertise of the committee is available to support the broader objectives of IATDMCT.

The establishment of an Analytical Committee within IATDMCT will address the growing need for specialized support, guidance, and education in the field of TDM analytical techniques, including alternative sampling methods. By focusing on the activities outlined above, the committee aims to contribute to the advancement of analytical capabilities for TDM purposes and support the professional development of individuals involved in TDM-related laboratory activities. The committee will adjust its purpose as the need arises based on the member’s interest.
